What this plan is for

ECN takes the markup out altogether and charges a commission instead: raw pricing on FX and gold, with USD 8 per standard lot round turn. It opens from USD 5,000 and carries leverage up to 1:200.

Gold and metals

Removing the markup takes a gold lot from about USD 130 on Pro to about USD 8 here. It is the single largest cost step in the range.

Scalping and automation

Raw pricing matters most to strategies that cross the spread often, which is what the sheet positions this group for: scalpers, EAs and price sensitive active traders.

A fixed USD 8 per round turn is a figure you can put in a spreadsheet before you trade, where a variable markup is not.

ECN in plain terms

ECN costs ten times Pro's deposit and gives up more than half its leverage — 1:200 against 1:500 — and the margin call tightens to 100%. On FX alone the saving is about USD 5 per standard lot, so the USD 4,500 extra deposit is a volume question before it is a pricing one. On gold the arithmetic is different: roughly USD 122 saved per lot against Pro, which pays the difference back in about forty lots.
